There are a number of other ways that parents can get involved here at JGEMS. All volunteers must be approved through the Salem Keizer School District.

• Lunchtime supervision- this duty involves coming one or more days each week from 11:30pm to 12:20pm and providing safe boundaries for our students while they are allowed to play games or relax in the common areas at OSD.

• Work parties/Zoo Visits/Museums - parents may ride the bus, or take their own car, duties include staying with a small group of students and keeping them on task.

• After School Clubs - Offerings are always different each year, so check in with what is currently being offered, duties can be as involved as you want to be, from teaching a class yourself, to just helping out.

• Parent Teacher Club - Each year JGEMS teachers and staff collaborate to help with school events. Please contact the Office Manager for information about which parent is organizing PTC this year.

Any activity that involves interaction with students will require you to have a current background check on file with the office manager.

Parents are not invited to volunteer on overnight field trips.
